Fort Worth police arrest suspect in double homicide after shooting at apartment complex

Fort Worth police have arrested a suspect in a Friday morning double homicide at the Club at Stonegate Apartments, in southwest Fort Worth.

Officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Stonegate Blvd. on a shooting call, police said. A 911 caller reported shots fired about 7 a.m. but would not go into more details about what happened over the phone, according to a police incident report.

When officers arrived, they found a witness near the 2500 block of Littlefield Drive, who said there had been a shooting, a police spokesperson said.

Police said they found two victims dead, with apparent gunshot wounds, inside an apartment in the 2500 block of Oak Hill Circle.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as two men, 38-year-old Pascual Hinojoza Cano and 29-year-old Eduardo Ivan Ceballos Morin.

Officers found the suspect, who was in the vicinity, and detained them pending further investigation. The suspect has been arrested on an outstanding warrant that is unrelated to the shooting, police said.

Homicide detectives are still investigating and have not described a motive for the shooting.

Police have not publicly identified the suspect.
