Police searching for driver who killed woman in Grand Prairie hit-and-run accident

Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision in Grand Prairie on Friday that left a woman dead.

At approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the 2300 block of West Main Street and found the woman who had been hit by a vehicle in the roadway.

The woman, who was in a crosswalk, began crossing the street when a black vehicle traveling west on Main Street failed to stop for a red light and struck the pedestrian, police said.

The vehicle fled, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office had not yet identified the victim.

Police believe the black vehicle, possibly a passenger car, sustained damage to the front driver’s side.
