Fort Worth police investigate 6 shootings hours apart Monday night and Tuesday morning
Fort Worth police are investigating six separate shootings Monday night and early Tuesday that left at least three people injured.
The first shooting occurred about 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of South Hulen Street and West Risinger Road, police said. Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving multiple calls of shots fired.
Officers found a man who had been shot. The victim was taken to a hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said. A MedStar spokesperson said the man was in critical condition.
About 11:20 p.m., police were called to the 3500 block of South Riverside Drive on a report of shots fired. Responding officers did not find a gunshot victim at the scene or at hospitals, but said they found shell casings in the area.
Early Tuesday, about 2 a.m., police responded to a shooting call in the 7000 block of John T White Road. A gunshot victim was taken to a hospital. A MedStar spokesperson said that the victim was in serious condition.
Shortly after 2 a.m., police responded to the 3100 block of Wesleyan Drive South, where a male shooting victim was found inside a home and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Police received a call about shots fired in the 1000 block of Landwoods Court shortly after 3 a.m. An Uber driver told officers that he was shot at, but no one was injured and no property was damaged, police said.
About 5 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of North Judkins Street, where shots were fired but no one was struck.
No suspects were in custody as of Tuesday.
Beyond those six shootings, detectives also are investigating a homicide that occurred earlier Monday in which a man was shot to death in south Fort Worth, authorities said. A 58-year-old man was fired upon about 8:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Savage Drive, police said. They did not announce an arrest in the killing.
The victim has been identified as Kevin Kennard of Fort Worth, according to officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. He died from a gunshot wound to his chest and his death has been ruled a homicide.
