Police investigating shooting death in Fort Worth’s Near East Side
Police said they are investigating the shooting death of a man in the 1800 block of East Lancaster Avenue early Sunday morning, in the Near East Side.
Police responded to a call about a shooting around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, finding a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital but did not survive his injuries, police said.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Senica Andre Cooksey, 42, and said he died from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case.
