Woman, 24, shot to death as she arrived at her workplace in Dallas suburb, police say

An assailant shot a woman to death on Friday as the victim arrived at work in Carrollton, police said.

The victim, whose name authorities did not release, was 24 and lived in Rockwall. She was shot about 9 a.m. in the 1100 block of Mac Arthur Drive, Carrollton police said.

The assailant immediately drove from the scene, and police did not announce an arrest.

Police asked people who control cameras facing Mac Arthur between Old Denton Road and Dickerson Parkway to review recordings between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Friday for images that may be helpful.

Detectives were following up on leads. Police asked witnesses who had not talked with an officer to call 972-466-3333, or 972-466-9133 to leave a tip anonymously.
