Woman found dead in Fort Worth house fire was killed in homicide, police say
A woman found dead in a house fire was the victim of a homicide in the Como neighborhood of west Fort Worth, police said Tuesday.
Fort Worth police did not provide any other details on the killing.
The name of the victim had not been released by authorities as of Tuesday.
The fire was reported just after 7 a.m. Monday in the 3800 block of Halloran Street in west Fort Worth.
The blaze damaged mostly contents in the single-story home, a Fort Worth Fire Department official said.
The victim was the only one in the residence when firefighters responded, fire department officials said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Fire officials also have not released any other details.
KXAS-TV reported that the owner of the house said he just started renting to the woman about a month ago and that she was from Minnesota and worked at a pharmacy in North Fort Worth.
