Man shot outside suburban Dallas-Fort Worth apartment building dies, authorities say

A 26-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday outside a Grand Prairie apartment complex, police said.

Mario Cantarero was shot about 2 a.m. in the 600 block of West Pioneer Parkway, Grand Prairie police said. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

A person called police to report that the victim, who lived in Grand Prairie, was lying outside a complex building.

Police have not announced an arrest in Cantarero’s killing.
