Photo shows unidentified man fleeing Denton park after approaching runner with knife
Denton police have released a photograph of an armed man who approached a runner in a park earlier this month, but he fled when she screamed.
Denton investigators released the photo on Wednesday in hopes that someone would recognize him and contact police.
The photo was taken Sept. 14 by city surveillance video near the Denton park.
The incident occurred about 1:25 p.m. on Sept. 14 on a trail at North Lakes Park in the 2000 block of West Windsor Drive in Denton.
The woman told Denton police she was running on the trail when the man approached her and displayed a knife.
The suspect fled after the runner screamed, Denton police said. The woman was not injured.
Denton police arrived within minutes but they were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Black man, tall and thin, about 20 years old, with short hair and with possibly a mustache.
