Man, around 22, killed in Fort Worth hit-and-run, police say; he was possibly homeless
A possibly homeless man believed to be about 22 years old was killed in a hit-and-run crash on an I-35 service road in south Fort Worth on Monday night, police said.
The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was pronounced dead by officers who responded to the scene, department spokesman Jimmy Pollozani said in an email. He was struck in the southwest corner of the intersection of I-35 and southbound Seminary Drive, he said.
Police noted the man was possibly homeless but didn’t explain why.
The suspect drove away from the scene and he was at large as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The department was unable to describe how the crash occurred or what the victim was doing when the vehicle struck him. Traffic investigators responded to the scene “and will conduct the follow-up investigation,” Pollozani said in the email.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin have been notified.
