Fort Worth man identified as victim in weekend murder near Race Street
A Fort Worth man has been identified as the victim who was found shot to death early Saturday near Race Street in northeast Fort Worth, authorities said Monday.
Roger Earl Juarez Jr., 36, died from a gunshot wound to his chest, according to a ruling by officials at the Tarrant Count Medical Examiner’s Office. His death was ruled a homicide.
No one has been arrested in the case.
At 12:06 a.m. Saturday, Fort Worth police received a report that a man had been shot and was lying in the street in the 3300 block of Race Street.
Patrol officers went to the scene, but they weren’t immediately able to find the victim.
The call was close to a report of shots fired in the area, Fort Worth police said Monday.
As they were about to clear the neighborhood, Fort Worth police found the body of a man who had been shot. He later was identified as Roger Earl Juarez Jr.
Fort Worth police did not release any other information on the shooting.
