Man chasing suspect who stole cell phone shot, wounded in Fort Worth, police say
A man chasing a suspect who had stolen his cell phone was shot and wounded Tuesday night in a south Fort Worth neighborhood, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in good condition.
Fort Worth police continued their search Wednesday for the suspect.
The shooting occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 5400 block of Woodway Drive.
The victim told police he was walking to work when the suspect approached him and forced him to give him his cell phone.
The robber ran to a nearby car as he was being chased by the victim, Fort Worth police said.
Someone in the car opened fire and wounded the victim. The car then fled the scene before patrol officers arrived.
Fort Worth police have not identified the suspects.
