Police in Dallas suburb discover man, 21, shot dead behind wheel of a crashed vehicle

Police responding to a car crash report in Grand Prairie on Thursday found a man who had been shot to death in the driver’s seat.

Grand Prairie Police Department officers went about 5 p.m. to the accident scene in the 700 block of East Palace Parkway.

When the officers checked on the driver of a Mazda, they discovered the body of Owen Dewar, 21, of Murphy, police said. He had been shot to death.

The suspect was identified at the scene. Police arrested Roland Randall, 28, of Garland, on suspicion of murder.

Police did not describe a motive.
