Arlington police search for man suspected of injuring 2 people in road rage shooting

Arlington police are searching for a man accused of shooting two people during a road rage incident on Monday morning.

Two adults and a small child were driving in a car near the 7000 block of U.S. 287 at about 5:53 a.m. Monday when someone started to tailgate them. The family pulled over to let the tailgater pass, but the man pulled up alongside them and shot at their car, they told Arlington police.

The bullet hit the front-seat passenger and driver inside the car. The child was not hurt. The victims drove to a hospital in Mansfield, and police went to talk with them at about 8:28 a.m., Arlington police said in a press release. One of people who was shot needed surgery.

The people described the suspect as driving a champagne-colored, 2005-2006 model Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck. The pickup has chrome wheels and a sticker or decal on the back window on the driver’s side. The man was described as black, about 25-30 years of age with a stocky build, bald head and no facial hair.

Anyone with information can contact a detective with the Arlington Gun Crimes Unit at 817-459-5692. Tipsters can also remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward by contacting Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
