Man accused in former wife’s killing in suburban Fort Worth is found dead, police say

A man who police said shot his former wife to death last week in Keller was found dead Saturday in his vehicle.

Mark Stanush, who was accused of murder in an arrest warrant, shot himself in Midlothian and was found about 11:15 a.m., Keller police said.

Teresa Salyer, 58, was shot in her head and torso in a garage at her home on Manchester Court, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Stanush, 59, shot Salyer Tuesday night, police alleged. She was pronounced dead about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals Service had been leading a search for Stanush.

Stanush had been awaiting trial on a 2019 assault charge in a case in which authorities alleged Salyer was the victim, according to Tarrant County criminal court records.

Stanush and Salyer were married on March 10, 2018, and stopped living together on Aug. 18, 2019, the date of the alleged assault, court divorce records stated. They did not have children.
