Recent Saginaw High School graduate shot to death on street near Fort Worth, police say
A teen who suffered multiple gunshot wounds died early Tuesday in what authorities say was an isolated incident in Saginaw, Saginaw police said.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting.
The victim has been identified as Dominik James DeLeon, 18, of Saginaw, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Tuesday.
DeLeon died from a gunshot wound to his chest and his death was ruled a homicide, according to officials at the medical examiner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. Tuesday at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Saginaw police responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Lindisfarne Lane regarding a body lying in the roadway.
DeLeon was found on the same street where he lived, according to records with the medical examiner’s office.
Saginaw police did not release any other details on the homicide, saying only there was no immediate threat to residents.
An investigation continued Tuesday.
DeLeon who was known as a “respectful and kind student” was a 2020 graduate of Saginaw High School, according to Eagle Mountain Saginaw school district officials on Tuesday.
School counselors are available to assist students and staff, school officials said.
