A woman was seriously injured over the weekend when a truck slammed into a hotel room she was staying in, authorities said.
A 16-year-old who Fort Worth police said was driving the truck was taken into custody shortly after the Sunday afternoon crash, authorities said Tuesday.
Fort Worth police did not release details on the teen such as his name because he is a juvenile.
The crash was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of Tanacross Drive.
Witnesses told police the teen was doing doughnuts in the street with the truck when the vehicle struck a car. The teen then drove across the street and hit the north end of the HomeTowne Suites building and drove into a room, police said.
The building sustained damage, but police said it was in no danger of collapsing.
After the crash, the teen left the truck and a witness saw him go into a room at a nearby Comfort Suites, Fort Worth police said.
The teen was tracked to the room. When confronted by authorities, the teen admitted to what he did and was arrested without incident, police said.
Fort Worth police believe the teen may have been driving a stolen truck.
