Fort Worth man repeatedly punched his mom’s small dog, then choked it, police say

A 50-year-old Fort Worth man repeatedly punched his mother’s miniature pinscher Wednesday night before he threw the dog several yards into a street, Fort Worth police said.

Before throwing the canine. the man choked the dog in front of several witnesses, Fort Worth police said.

The dog survived, authorities said.

Police did not release any information on what led up to the alleged assault.

Clint Waters was booked into the Fort Worth Jail shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records. He was then moved to the Tarrant County Jail.

Waters was charged Thursday with cruelty to an animal with serious bodily injury, according to Tarrant County court records..

Fort Worth patrol officers responded to the animal cruelty call shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday to a home in far east Fort Worth.

Once they arrived on the scene, police learned that a dog belonging to Waters’ mother was attacked.

At some point, Waters is accused of punching the dog several times and choking the canine.

Waters was arrested at the scene, according to police reports.

Generally, miniature pinschers are just over a foot tall and weigh eight to 10 pounds, according to the American Kennel Club.

After the attack, the dog was taken to a local veterinarian and an examination indicated the canine had suffered some injuries consistent with the attack, police said.

Waters remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $3,500 bond.
