Girl shot, seriously wounded during argument at Arlington apartments, police say

A girl was seriously wounded early Wednesday at an Arlington apartment complex after she was shot as she argued with the gunman, Arlington police said.

The girl, who first responders found in the apartment complex parking lot, was taken to a local hospital.

Arlington police were searching Wednesday for the unknown gunman.

Police did not release the age of the girl or any details on what the two had been arguing about.

Patrol officers responded to the shooting call about 1:45 a.m. in the 2500 block of Forest Point Drive in Arlington.

Witnesses told Arlington police the girl got into an argument with the unidentified suspect.

At some point, the man pulled out a handgun, shot the girl and fled the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
