2 men shot dead in Exxon parking lot by 3 armed suspects, Dallas police say
Three people armed with guns shot and killed two men who were trying to run away from them in an Exxon gas station parking lot in Dallas early Friday morning, police said.
The victims, who weren’t identified, had reportedly been sitting in their car when the suspects confronted them and they decided to run. After the suspects shot the men multiple times, two women in the backseat of the victims’ car got into the suspects’ car and fled the scene, police said.
They crashed shortly after leaving, police said, and officers found all five suspects hiding in a nearby shed. They were brought in for questioning.
The shooting occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the Exxon station in the 9100 block of Bruton Road, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the two men dead in the parking lot.
They were able to determine the victims had been siting in the front seat of their vehicle with the two women in the backseat when a red Dodge Charger parked directly in front of them, police said. Three people got out of the car, armed with guns, and began an altercation with the victims.
That’s when the victims tried to run away, police said, and the three people shot them multiple times.
The five suspects crashed in the 8900 block of Shorelake Drive. A witness who observed the incident and their behavior came to the gas station to tell officers about what he saw, police said.
The shed where the suspects were hiding was a few blocks away from where they crashed, police said.
Charges have yet to be announced for the suspects.
