Accused gunman arrested in deadly shooting at Fort Worth-area apartment complex

A suspect was in custody Thursday, accused in a May 7 shooting that left one man dead in Bedford.

Austin Maurice Ciervo, 24, was arrested Wednesday, according to Tarrant County Jail records.

Ciervo remained in jail in lieu of $500,000 bond and faces a charge of murder.

Bedford police said the shooting occurred during a disturbance at the apartment complex where the suspect and victim lived. Police didn’t release further details on what led to the shooting.

Bedford patrol officers responded to a call about 9 p.m. May 7 in the 1600 block of Oak Creek Lane and saw two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to news release from the Bedford Police Department.

The two people who had been shot were taken to a nearby hospital, the release said.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other was treated and released, according to police.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as Jose Roberto Romero Rivera, 28, of Bedford and ruled that he died from a gunshot wound to the neck.
