One person killed, another wounded in Fort Worth-area shooting overnight

One man died and another was wounded during a shooting in Bedford on Thursday night.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of Oak Creek Lane and saw two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to news release from the Bedford Police Department.

The two people who had been shot were taken to a nearby hospital, the release said.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other was treated and released, according to police.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as Jose Roberto Romero Rivera, 28, of Bedford and ruled that he died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

No other information was available Friday, police said. No arrests or motive for the shooting have been announced.
