Lake Worth Italian restaurant hit by a truck Saturday still opens for Mother’s Day
A Lake Worth Italian restaurant is still serving Mother’s Day meals even though a driver plowed a truck through the storefront Saturday.
Nobody was hurt when a suspected drunk driver left pickup truck-sized holes in the front and rear of Tuscany Italian Bistro in Lake Worth. And they’re still welcoming dine in customers (with social distancing) for Mother’s Day.
Because the kitchen and restrooms weren’t affected by the crash, Tuscany Italian Bistro owner Jesse Gill said they were able to put up plywood over the holes as a temporary fix and return to normal business Sunday.
Lake Worth police said in a Facebook post that they found open containers of alcohol in the Chevrolet Avalanche pickup and urged anyone who has been drinking not to drive.
