Arlington man fatally shot by neighbor after shooting his own girlfriend, police say

An Arlington man shot his girlfriend before being shot and killed by a neighbor, police said.

The 53-year-old man who was fatally shot was identified as Darryl Williams by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Williams and a woman he was in a relationship with were inside their home Saturday night in the 600 block of Lillard Road, Arlington police said in a press release. Another woman, who is related to the woman who was shot, was inside the house with a male neighbor.

All four people were inside the house when a fight broke out at about 10:45 p.m. At some point, Williams started firing a gun and shot the woman he was dating. The second man pulled out a gun and shot Williams, killing him in the doorway of the house.

The woman who was shot was taken to a local hospital, and police said she is expected to survive.

Arlington police said detectives were still processing the crime scene. No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.
