Four days after killing at business near Haslet, man arrested in girlfriend’s death
A man who authorities have alleged shot his girlfriend to death near Haslet was arrested on Saturday, according to a jail record.
Michael Walker Jr., 23, was booked on suspicion of murder at the Tarrant County Jail.
Walker is accused of shooting Atiyeh Chatmon, also 23, in the chest on Tuesday in the 1900 block of Golden Heights Road. Walker left the scene after the killing, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office has alleged.
The couple’s relationship ended last weekend. Walker and Chatmon talked by telephone on Tuesday evening, and the conversation erupted into an argument, the sheriff’s office has said. After the call, Walker arrived at the business where Chatmon worked, continued to argue and shot her.
Chatmon, who lived in Fort Worth, died during surgery about two hours after she was shot.
