A 75-year-old woman dies after she is struck by vehicle in Fort Worth, authorities say

A 75-year-old woman died Friday night after she was struck by a crossover vehicle in Fort Worth, police said.

Heriberta Lopez was hit about 8:15 p.m. near Camp Bowie West Boulevard and Reagan Drive, Fort Worth police said. She was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital.

Lopez died of multiple blunt force injuries, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office reported. She lived in Fort Worth.

Police declined on Saturday to release the direction that the vehicle had been driving or that Lopez was walking before she was struck. The incident was an accident, police said.

The driver called 911 to report that she had struck a person as she drove a Ford Escape.
