Dallas-area woman killed in crash after driver ran red light, police say
A woman was killed after a driver ran a red light and crashed into her sedan in Grapevine, police said.
At 9:50 a.m. Saturday, the woman was the passenger of a Dodge sedan, which was driving west on Hall-Johnson through the intersection at William D. Tate. The driver of a Mercedes ran a red light and crashed into the sedan.
The sedan flipped over and landed next to the northbound frontage road of William D. Tate, Grapevine police said in a press release.
The passenger, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Elvira Soreque-Bautista, was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Crash investigators were reviewing evidence and speaking with the driver of the Mercedes. No charges had been filed as of Saturday, police said.
The northbound service road of William D. Tate was closed for about five hours.
