8 arrested in Presidents Day prostitution sting operation in Fort Worth neighborhoods
Eight Fort Worth men face prostitution charges after they were arrested Monday in a sting operation by vice officers, police said.
The men ranged in age from 27 to 64, according to Fort Worth jail records.
The arrests were made at these locations, according to police reports:
▪ 3950 E. Lancaster Ave.
▪ 4051 E. Lancaster Ave.
▪ 4014 E. Lancaster Ave.
▪ 3701 E. Lancaster Ave.
▪ 2600 Chicago Ave.
▪ 500 S. Ayers Ave.
▪ 2000 Oakland Blvd.
▪ 3800 Meadowbrook Drive.
The men arrested on Monday face charges of prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor. It’s a Class A misdemeanor if a suspect has one or two previous prostitution convictions, and it’s a jail felony for someone who has three or more convictions, according to Texas law.
Police did not provide any further details on the vice operation, which was conducted Monday afternoon.
Earlier this month, Tarrant County sheriff’s deputies and investigators fanned out across the county and nabbed 41 men accused of buying sex from prostitutes.
All 41 are facing either prostitution or other criminal charges, according to a news release from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The national initiative is held every year and focuses on curtailing the demand which drives sex trafficking, said David McClelland, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office chief of staff.
In previous sting operations in Fort Worth, an undercover Fort Worth officer worked as a prostitution decoy.
