A man was shot Wednesday evening in south Fort Worth when he encountered two people burglarizing his vehicle, police said.

Timothy Jones, 27, was taken to a local hospital with a minor injury, authorities said.

Jones was shot about 5:30 p.m. at the Sycamore Point apartments in the 8000 block of Chandra Lane, near Sycamore School and Crowley roads, police said.

One or both of the assailants shot Jones as they left after the encounter, Officer Jimmy Pollozani, a Fort Worth police spokesman, said.

Police had not reported the arrest of either assailant Thursday night.
