Man killed after being shot multiple times in Fort Worth neighborhood, police say

A man died from gunshot wounds late Tuesday night after someone fired into a Fort Worth home, according to police and the victim’s family.

Authorities had not released the name of the 31-year-old victim Wednesday, but the family identified him as Darius Marable.

Teneisha Marable told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram she received a telephone call from her brother Tuesday night.

“He said he was shot,” the victim’s sister said Wednesday as she sat in a vehicle in front of her brother’s home on Griggs Court in southeast Fort Worth.

Teneisha Marable said her brother had just arrived home after visiting his baby’s mother.

“I don’t know if he had any problems with anyone,” she said.

The shooting was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 3900 block of Griggs Court.

A gunman fired into a home and hit the victim, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.

A family member took the victim to a hospital, but they stopped at a nearby gas station and asked for help. But they did not wait for paramedics and continued to the hospital, according to WFAA-TV.

The victim died at a local hospital.

The man was shot multiple times in the upper body, police said.

Police did not release a motive for the shooting or any information about suspects. No arrests have been announced.
