Man shot his son to death during dispute at west Fort Worth house, police say

A man shot his 24-year-old son to death Saturday in west Fort Worth, police said.

The victim was shot in the upper body about 12:15 p.m in the 300 block of Coach House Circle. The men were involved in a dispute, police said.

The victim, whose name authorities had not released Saturday night, died at a hospital.

Homicide Unit detectives were investigating the killing Saturday night, and the police department had not reported an arrest.

It was one of several unrelated shootings Fort Worth police investigated Friday and Saturday.

Also Saturday, a person was shot about 1:45 p.m. in the 7500 block of Little Rock Lane.

Three people were sitting inside of a car smoking marijuana when one of them pulled a gun and tried to rob the other two, a police spokesman said. The assailant shot the victim in the hand.

The victim and another person left the scene in the car while the assailant fired more shots at the car.

The assailant, who is known to the victim, was not in custody Saturday afternoon. The victim was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

Two people were shot in the city on Friday night.

A male victim was shot about 10 p.m. on Stanley Avenue near West Pafford Street after a disagreement with an acquaintance, police said. The victim was driven in a private vehicle to John Peter Smith Hospital.

His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The assailant was not in custody.

A teenage boy was shot in his leg before he ran into a Fort Worth store.

The victim was shot about 5:45 p.m. and went inside the Autozone in the 8600 block of South Hulen Street, police said.

The boy was taken to a hospital in serious condition, the MedStar spokesman said. His injury was not life-threatening, according to police.

Police detained two suspects, a department spokesman said. The investigation of a motive was incomplete.
