Woman who crashed car into Fort Worth home blew through a stop sign first, police say

A woman was arrested early Thursday morning after she crashed her car into a south Fort Worth home and tried to flee the scene on foot, police said.

Selena Delgadillo, 24, was charged with evading arrest and resisting arrest, and she was suspected of being intoxicated, police said. A witness to the crash reportedly told police the woman smelled of alcohol and was slurring her speech.

She was traveling north on Roma Lane around 2:40 a.m. Thursday when she failed to stop at a stop sign and continued into the front yard of a home in the 5400 block of Oak Grove Road, police said. The car struck the home, police said, damaging a brick wall. The car didn’t go inside the home.

The woman tried to reverse the car, but it got stuck on an aluminum pole and hit a vehicle in the parking lot of the home, police said.

The witness woke up at this time and walked out into the front yard to observe the suspect, who seemed to be drunk, police said.

The woman ran, heading south on Roma Lane, but officers got to her and placed her under arrest, police said.
