17-year-old shooting victim found lying in south Fort Worth street, authorities say

A 17-year-old boy was shot in his thigh Wednesday night in south Fort Worth, authorities said.

An assailant fired upon the victim about 8:15 p.m. on Baker Street near Evans Avenue, Fort Worth police said.

The teenager was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but his injury was not life-threatening, a MedStar spokesman said.

A suspect was not in custody, a police department spokesman said at 9:45 p.m.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
