Racist graffiti found on Carroll High School campus; police investigating
Southlake police said they are investigating racist graffiti that was found on the Carroll High School campus Sunday.
Racial slurs and vulgar images were painted on two buses, maintenance equipment, a scoreboard and support facilities at Carroll High School, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA reported.
The district said the graffiti caused extensive damage.
The Southlake police criminal investigations division is investigating the graffiti and reviewing surveillance footage, police said.
Last school year, the school district faced backlash when two videos surfaced of Southlake students using the n-word.
In November 2018, the first video, which was filmed off campus, showed a group of teens chanting the n-word.
In response, the district held a special school board meeting on Nov. 2, 2018, where a large crowd addressed its concerns over race and how the district is handling the issue.
In another video in February, students in a car repeatedly said the n-word. At least one Southlake Carroll student was in the video.
