Fort Worth police arrest teen suspected in series of armed robberies

Fort Worth police arrested the suspect in a series of aggravated robberies Wednesday, Fort Worth police said.

Michael Anthony Olivas, 18, is suspected of robbing multiple convenience stores with a handgun in October and November 2019.

He was charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and was in the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday, Fort Worth police said on Twitter.

A video shared by Fort Worth police shows Olivas talking to a clerk at a gas station. He appears to lift up his shirt to show the clerk something in his waistband. A few seconds later, the clerk hands Olivas a black bag.

The FWPD Robbery and Fugitive Units, South Division Special Response Team, and U.S. Marshals Service worked together to arrest Olivas.
