2 men, woman accused of using skimmer device arrested near Fort Worth bank
Three people were in custody Thursday after Fort Worth police say they were found with a skimmer device near a bank ATM.
On a bank surveillance video, the three were seen opening the ATM late Tuesday in the 6000 block of Bryant Irvin Road in Fort Worth.
Jail records identified two of the suspects as Carlos Alvarez Tovar, 44, and Yoliver Tovar, 42, both of Dallas. Information was not available on if the Tovars are related. The other suspect was Edson Manrique, 41, of Houston.
Fort Worth police were dispatched to an investigation call shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at 6001 Bryant Irvin Road in Fort Worth.
When they arrived, officers saw a red 2014 Nissan Versa parked at the Southside Bank ATM in a back parking lot. The vehicle pulled away, but officers eventually stopped it.
A credit and debit card skimmer device was found in the car, Fort Worth police said. The devices are used to steal debit or credit card information when a car is swiped.
Detectives later obtained a bank surveillance video which captured the suspects opening the ATM. The suspects were booked into jail Wednesday morning.
The three remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $3,000 bail each.
They face charges of engaging in organized criminal activity and unlawful use of a criminal instrument, according to jail records.
