Man driving stolen truck cab leads Haltom City police in chase across multiple cities

A man driving a stolen tractor-trailer cab on Tuesday led Haltom City police in a chase that began within the city’s limits, moved to the Fort Worth area and ended back in Haltom City with his arrest, police said.

Travis Brandon, 34, drove above the speed limit but not at “overly high speeds,” and hit two vehicles along the way, said Sgt. Eric Peters, a Haltom City police spokesman.

Officers tried to pull over the semi-trailer cab, which police alleged Brandon stole in Fort Worth, about 11:45 a.m. near Texas 183 and Norwood Drive, Peters said. It was tracked with GPS.

Brandon led police through Hurst, Richland Hills, Haltom City, Fort Worth and Saginaw before returning to Haltom City.

Brandon hit two vehicles driven by civilians at West Pipeline Road and Northeast Loop 820, near North East Mall in Hurst, Peters said. No one was injured in the collisions.

The chase ended at Broadway Avenue and Aurora Street. Brandon ran from the cab and was taken into custody, police said.

Brandon suffered minor injuries as he was arrested and was taken to North Hills Hospital, Peters said. He was to be booked on suspicion of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest with a vehicle.
