The video of three officers’ heroic rescue of a 10-year-old boy from an apartment fire in Balch Springs is going viral.
On Monday, police officers and firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 6:25 a.m. Officers cleared the building except for one boy who was trapped on the second floor, according to Balch Springs police.
One of the officers, referred to as Officer Jones, threw a baton at the window and broke it. The boy jumped from the window and was caught by three officers, Officer Jones, Officer Fields and Officer Gross, on the ground.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
