Woman found dead on Fort Worth highway, police investigating

A woman was found dead on U.S. 287 in Fort Worth on Friday evening.

At 3 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of U.S. 287 near Lancaster Avenue and the Cutting Edge Haunted House.

A Tarrant County Courtesy Patrol found the woman face down on the side of the highway, police said.

She was identified as Treva May, 50, of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website. A ruling on her death is pending.

On Friday night, police said the situation is unknown at this time.
