WFAA: Off-duty Grapevine firefighter, dive team member drowns
The body of an off-duty Grapevine firefighter was found hours after he went missing Saturday in Lake Grapevine, WFAA reported.
James McKenzie, 30, and a friend jumped into the water to swim to shore around 10 a.m., according to the Grapevine Fire Department.
“Without alarm,” McKenzie went under near the Oak Grove Park area, WFAA reported. His friend made it ashore.
McKenzie wasn’t wearing a life jacket, News 8 reported. Read more at wfaa.com.
