Northeast Tarrant cities dominate quality of life rankings
Northeast Tarrant County cities dominated two quality of life rankings.
First, WalletHub ranked Southlake as the number one spot in Texas for families, surpassing second-place University Park by a wide margin.
Coming in third overall as the best place for families was Colleyville.
Keller came in eighth place while Grapevine came in 30th.
The ranking looked at playgrounds per capita, violent crime rate and divorce rates.
Colleyville and Southlake have the lowest divorce rates. Not surprisingly, Southlake has the highest median family income with Colleyville ranked second.
Then, Alarm System ranked the 30 safest cities in Texas based on crime reports, including violent crime and property-related crime.
Colleyville and Trophy Club ranked 15th and 16th on the list respectively. It’s significant because Colleyville, with 24,915 people, has the highest population of any city in the ranking. The town has .4 violent crimes per 1,000 people. Property crime rates are 5.7 per 1,000 people.
Trophy Club also has one of the higher populations on the list with 11,129 people. Violent crimes are .6 per 1,000 people and property crime rates are 5.9 per 1,000 people.
Other area cities to make the list of 30 safest cities include Venus, Van Alstyne, Highland Village, Double Oak, Heath and Argyle.
