Grapevine Rotary Club awards scholarships

Every year, the Rotary Club of Grapevine has a Golf For Grads Tournament — this year held on June 13 — to raise money for next year’s scholarships.

“This year we were able to award 19 scholarships for $1,500,” spokeswoman Allison Patterson said.

If that student elects to attend Tarrant County College, then the partnership with TCC benefits them because the college will match the $1,500 and pay for their second year.

Grapevine Police Chief Eddie Salame, a longtime Rotary member, said its rewarding to give back to the community, especially students.
