High bail set for DWI suspect accused of killing landscaper
Bail was set at $100,000 Thursday for a suspected drunken driver accused of losing control of his vehicle and killing a landscape worker.
The driver, Michael Anthony Doyle, 64, of North Richland Hills, faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter in the death of Angel Soto, 48, of Dallas.
Soto was working outside a business in the 5500 block of Rufe Snow Drive when he was hit about 11 a.m. Tuesday by a Jeep Grand Cherokee that jumped a curb, North Richland Hills police and the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported.
Soto was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, the medical examiner said.
Doyle was arrested at the scene. He was not injured.
He remained in the North Richland Hills Detention Facility Thursday.
