Landscape worker hit by suspected drunken driver in North Richland Hills
A landscape worker was critically injured Tuesday morning when a Jeep Grand Cherokee left a roadway and went over a curb, police said.
The driver was arrested at the scene. He faces a charge of intoxicated assault serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony, police said.
His name was not released. He remained in the North Richland Hills jail Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was reported about 11 a.m. Tuesday at 5540 Rufe Snow Drive near Buenos Aires Drive in North Richland Hills. The 2015 Grand Cherokee was northbound on Rufe Snow when the driver attempted to turn east onto Buenos Aires. The driver, 64, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, jumped the curb and struck the 48-year-old worker.
No other injuries were reported.
The worker was taken by helicopter ambulance to a local hospital.
