Reward increased for convicted North Richland Hills sex offender
A reward increased to $8,000 Monday for a convicted sex offender from Northeast Tarrant County who has eluded authorities since 2011, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of Mark Timothy McBride, 59, of North Richland Hills, who is on the state’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
The $8,000 reward is available if authorities get a tip leading to his capture in April, according to a Monday DPS news release.
Keller police said an investigation of McBride began in 2004 when a parent contacted them.
He owned a construction business in Keller that was adjacent to a cheerleading school. McBride befriended some of the girls and gave them drugs and money for sexual “contact,” police said.
McBride was convicted in 2006 of three counts of indecency with a child involving two 16-year-old girls. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and was paroled on April 22, 2011, according to prison system records.
Once free, McBride failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements, violated the terms of his parole and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The DPS news release said that McBride has ties to North Richland Hills and Fort Worth and that he previously lived in Pagosa Springs, Colo. “McBride had expressed an interest in living and working in Alaska,” the news release said.
McBride is white with thinning hair, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds. He may wear glasses.
