Female robber fired shots in North Richland Hills holdup
Police continued Monday searching for a woman who robbed another woman at an apartment complex parking lot, then fired two shots before taking a backpack.
Investigators believe a second suspect, also a woman, used one of the victim’s credit cards near Interstate 30 and Oakland Boulevard in Fort Worth shortly after the North Richland Hills holdup.
The robbery occurred Wednesday at an apartment complex parking lot in the 1600 block of Weyland Drive.
The victim told police she was getting into her vehicle when she saw a dark vehicle pulled up behind her. A woman armed with a handgun got out of the vehicle and demanded money, police said.
The robber fired two shots, one into the ground and the other toward an apartment building. No injuries were reported.
The gunman grabbed the victim’s backpack, walked away and got back into the vehicle. She drove out of the parking lot and headed west on Harwood Road. The robber is described as a white or Hispanic woman with a possible tattoo on her face. She was driving a dark, four-door sedan, believed to be a new Hyundai or Sonata with paper registration and factory wheels.
A short time later, investigators determined that a second woman used the victim’s credit card in Fort Worth. That suspect is described as a white female about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, possibly with reddish brown hair.
