Colleyville Winter Ball set for Jan. 29

The 2016 Winter Ball welcomes daddies and daughters, mothers and sons who will be treated to a magical circus theme.

Designed as a celebration of fathers and their daughters, and mothers and their sons, the Winter Ball is open to girls and boys, ages 4-12. Young ladies and their fathers or father figures (uncle, grandfather, etc.), and young men and their mothers or mother figures (aunt, grandmother, etc.) are invited to share an evening to remember.

A deejay will provide the music, each young lady and young man will receive a special gift, and refreshments will be available.

The ball is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Jan. 29 at Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive. Tickets are $25 per mother/son or father/daughter duo. An additional daughter or son is $10. Tickets can be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office, 2512 Glade Rd., or online at Colleyville.com through Jan. 22.

Grapevine citizens donate to tornado victims

Area citizens donated towards the recovery efforts of the Rowlett and Garland area tornado victims.

Their donated gift cards totaling $2,330.00 were delivered recently by the Grapevine Police and Fire departments.

The National Weather Service said the December storm produced EF4 damage in Garland and EF3 damage in Rowlett and was on the ground for approximately 13 miles in Dallas and Rockwall Counties.

Colleyville Heritage presents ‘My Fair Lady’

Colleyville Heritage High School theater department presents “My Fair Lady” at 7 p.m. Jan. 28, 29, 30 and Feb. 1 in the CHHS auditorium, 5401 Heritage Ave., Colleyville. Tickets are $15 for reserved seating and $10 for general seating. For more information, go to chhspanthertheatre.com.

Grapevine Citizens Police Academy

Registration for the Spring Grapevine Citizen's Police Academy is open.

The Grapevine Citizens Police Academy presents a look at the innermost workings, values and philosophy of the Grapevine Police Department.

The Academy is a series of three-hour classes, hosted once a week.

The instruction is comprehensive, covering different aspects of the Police Department. Personnel from various divisions conduct each instructional block. To register, visit GrapevineTexas.gov.
