Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage hockey handles Frisco

The Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage Varsity Silver hockey team defeated Frisco by a score of 4-0 on Thursday night in Farmer’s Branch.

The Varsity Silver team out-shot Frisco 19-15 in the contest.

Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage took a 1-0 lead at the 6:21 mark of the first period on a goal from Stephen Bradley Branscum and assist from Cole Potter.

In the second, Grapevine came up with two more goals, as Colton Tyran scored on an assist from Timothy Stallons less than two minutes into the period and Tyran added a second unassisted goal later in the period.

The score was 3-0 heading into the third.

At the 13:15 mark of the third period, Austin Bell scored on assists from Kevin Shea and Newman Magness to put the game out of reach.

Caleb Perry stopped all 15 shots on goal in the contest for Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage and the Varsity Silver team moved to 8-1 on the season with two overtime losses.

Grapevine/Colleyville heritage will play Mansfield at 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Euless StarCenter Green Arena in its next contest.

Peddicord and Joy lead Dragons in victory

The Carroll Varsity Silver hockey team cruised to a 7-0 victory over McKinney on Thursday night on the strength of a pair of goals each from Lucas Peddicord and Scott Joy.

Both players picked up an assist in the game as well.

Michael Walsh, Todd Luther and Saunders Penn would also score goals in the game for the Varsity Silver team, while Walsh, Penn, Harrison Bonney, Ricardo Tikeshi Alvarez, Alexander Carbone and Louie Guarino all earned assists in the game for the Dragons.

The Dragons out shot McKinney 37-13 in the contest and Brayden Mullins stopped all 13 shots on goal for the Varsity Silver team.

Caroll improved to 6-3 on the season with the victory with two overtime wins.

The Varsity Silver team will play Frisco at 8 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Plano US Arena in its next game.
