Two pedestrians struck by pickup in Denton hit-and-run

Two people were struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday, and police have located what they believe is the suspect’s vehicle, police said Sunday.

The pickup which was located late Saturday is being processed for evidence, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon, police said.

One of the victims was critically injured, police said.

Police responded to the scene of the accident at 2:20 a.m. Saturday at South Carroll Boulevard and West Sycamore Street.

A witness told police the pickup hit the two pedestrians and then drove south on South Carroll Boulevard.

As of Sunday, the identities of the victims had not been released by authorities.

Based on interviews with witnesses, police described the pickup as a maroon General Motors pickup with possible front end damage. The vehicle had a green University of North Texas sticker on the back glass.
