Fondling charge added to case against Hurst teen
A teen who police say posed as a 12-year-old to enroll in a Hurst elementary school and recruit victims was charged Friday with indecency with a child, accused of fondling a third-grade boy at the school.
Ricardo Javid Lugo, 17, had been charged Nov. 24 with possession with intent to promote child pornography.
He remains in the Tarrant County Jail with bail set at $250,000 on the child pornography charge and $50,000 on the indecency charge.
A man who authorities say posed as Lugo’s father to enroll him at Hurst Hills Elementary School remains in federal custody.
Randy Ray Wesson, 28, was indicted by a federal grand jury this week on one count of possession of a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and one count of receipt of a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, court records show.
Wesson told investigators that he sexually abused more than 100 children and possessed about 42,000 images of child pornography.
He was arrested Nov. 18 at his home on David Drive in Fort Worth after an investigation by Hurst police.
Hurst police have said Wesson falsified a birth certificate to enroll Lugo in the sixth grade under the name “Matthew Drew Wesson.” Hurst Hills is in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district.
H-E-B held a sexual abuse prevention seminar for Hurst Hills parents this month.
Detective Greg Noone said Friday that police are still investigating whether there are other victims. “I don’t know that we’ve got anything right in front of us to say there is going to be more, but the investigation is continuing,” he said.
