Mid-Cities supporters of SafeHaven Celebrity Chefs event turns 10

Two celebrations in one. This year’s annual Mid-Cities Supporters of SafeHaven Celebrity Chefs event turns 10 years old and the organization itself turns 30. What better way to celebrate such an amazing milestone than to make this year’s Celebrity Chefs event bigger and more exciting.

Set for 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17 at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Drive, this year’s theme is, “Camping Under the Stars...an Evening of Campfire Cuisine, Craft Beer and Wine.” This event will have 18 of the most talented chefs from our area, serving up selections from their most delicious recipes.

So why the camping theme? This year’s proceeds will help send the very special children of SafeHaven to Camp Heart, a camp where kids who have been exposed to domestic violence can put a bit of joy back in their hearts.

The list of chefs dishing up their finest delectables includes Chef Peter Weikel from Central Market, Chef Susan Clark from Sweet Memories, Chef Charles Youts from The Classic at Roanoke, Chef Chris Wilson from Market Street, Chef Hans Bergman from Cacharel, Chef Dena Shaskan from Bravo and Chef Jon Bonnell from Bonnell’s Restaurant Group.

Also, Chef Todd Phillips from J.R.’s Steak & Grill, Chef Donatella Trotti from Nonna Tata, Chef Jason Harper from Trio New American, Chef Paul Reid from Hurst Conference Center, Chef Andrew Huszar from Tastefully Yours, Chef Deb Cantrell from Savor Culinary Services, Chef Janet Capua from Z’s Café.

Chef Carleen Anderson from Le.Monade, Chef Kalen Morgenstern from FW Market + Table, Chef Trey Zingelmann from Greystone Castle and Chef Gabe Valdez from Marcona Kitchen are the others on the list.

In the “more exciting than ever” category...Texas Country Hall of Fame inductee and multi-nominated Country Music Association artist, Michael Martin Murphey will make a special guest appearance, and 92.1 HANK FM on-air personality Erin Wilde will serve as this year’s emcee.
